A Day in Provence - o/c 21" x 25"

sold

For over 24 years, I've created paintings depicting the various seasons. Sometimes, during the actual season, but more often not. When not, I need a combination of recall/memories, sketches, photographs or imagination to design and apply the oils in various phases. I do prefer timing a composition in exact relation to the titled season in my studio, but rarely that happens. The one above, I easily could.

"A Day in Provence" was recently created when the red delicious apples are ready to harvest. Some too large or pushed off their branches by others to remain on, have fallen to the ground. That also brings "life" to the 50 year old apple trees as if one could reach in and enjoy a bite.
